Breathing as medicine and meditation

The truth is, we’ve been conditioned to keep a straight face, smile though we hurt inside, hold back our anger, and in general, repress our feelings, sexuality and sensitivity. In order not to show feelings that will displease others, we deaden ourselves to these feelings. We tighten our bellies, restrict our breathing, lock our jaws. We kill our spontaneity. We are surviving, but that’s a far cry from living.
