Let the posture regulate the breathing
Did you know...
...that doing the ujjayi breathing (Skt. ‘victorious,’ a sort of long and deep throat breathing) in every hatha yoga posture is not the rule, but an exception? It’s a big mistake. Rather, (if you want the rule for every posture and every yoga) open on the inhalation, relax on the exhalation. Allow the posture to regulate the breathing. Let the body breathe, instead of imposing on it some unnatural, forced rhythm or pattern.
